THE BRIEF

After the acquisition of Gallo Records by prominent south African musician and entrepreneur Black Coffee his 1st biggest conquest was to launch a child company from gallo Records that would in essense use the rich library of music owned by gallo and give them a touch fresher touch by collaborating with modern artists to create a new new sound by mixing the the old with the new.

INSIGHT

MUSIC IS FOREVER

Music is time capsule.Its a portal that defies time dimension allows us to invision and vicariously live in the future, to travel to the past and slow dance in cherished memories and it also currently enables us to get through what ever un-easing situation we. are currently dealing with.

WHAT COULD WE POSSIBLY HAVE DONE WITH THIS 3 PRONGED APPROACH?

PAST

This tear represents all the music from the past that Gallo has stored in its Rich Archives.

From the Golden hits, To the sing along along blues.

These will all serve as resources for the emulsion

that Gallo will be creating.

PRESENT

This tear represents the “now”.

The Modern sound Pioneers, the hit makers and Trail Blazzers that are moving and shaking our Head nodders and Vosho Dippers in the streets of SA and the world to “MAKE THE CIRCLE BIGGA”.

FUTURE

This tear Ultimately Represents the outcome of this musical Montage that Gallo has made possible.

This is the Dawn of a new Era in South African music, Rich in Culture and Possibilities.

It's that sweet magical spot when the richness of the past Crosses paths with the effervescence of the present all the name of Musical creativity.

I then ended up with a rounded stylised icon that embodied both themes.

I started off by looking the universally understood icon of the playhead and juxtaposing that with a visual representation of fluidity.

Taking this a step even further to. incorporate the universally understood icon of record labels and employing the. bands that we find on records begun to forge into something that strayed towards a favourable motion driven aesthetic.

I then took this discovery and infused it with the rounded stylised playhead to give birth to the Dancing Playhead.
